Ellen Hoffman, writer and speaker, photo. Ellen has more than two decades of experience in writing for top national magazines and newspapers. She has appeared on and been interviewed on retirement topics on The Today Show, CNBC, and National Public Radio as well as many other national and local media outlets in the U.S.

An experienced public speaker and workshop leader, she is the author of two books on retirement. “The Retirement Catch–up Guide” relates the true stories of how more than 50 late–starters took positive, successful action to increase their retirement savings before it was too late. “Bankroll Your Future Retirement with Help from Uncle Sam” is a plain–language guide to the programs and issues—including Social Security and tax policies—that pre–retirees and retirees need to understand in order to make responsible decisions about their future.

Ellen began her journalism career as Washington Post reporter and later became a free–lance writer. She’s free–lance contributor and the online retirement columnist for Business Week magazine. Her articles on retirement have been published in dozens of publications including Money Magazine, Reader’s Digest, AARP Bulletin, and Better Choices for Living After 50, and many more.
